Underberg Steel Bridge
A Change in location is all it took for on lucky Underberg farmer to receive a gift of R1 Million steel bridge from an international film production company. The bridge, manufactured by Pietermaritzburg construction company Syd Mills Manufacturing, is the “biggest job we’ve ever done”, according to owner Syd Mills.
The bridge was to be used in the making of a film, but the shoot was shifted to New Zealand because the Underberg location wasn’t suitable.
“We were asked to manufacture it in November and we took the job on in January. It as completed last week and transported to the Underberg on Thursday for installation,” said Mills.
The bridge, weighing a whopping 23 tons, is 21 metres long and 4 metres wide
